bones finds out about jim’s love of shakespeare while they’re at the academy. he spends months tracking down all the paper copies he can find of shakespeare’s plays and poetry, because he remembers something jim said once about having a thing for physical books. something about the smell of them, the feel of the paper. when bones finally hands him the package on christmas morning, his palms are sweating with nerves— what if jim doesn’t do well with big gestures like this? hell, bones himself doesn’t, not anymore.
so bones watches jim while jim tears off the wrapping and watches jim as his eyes widen and watches jim as a smile practically explodes on his face and then jim meets bones’ gaze and goddammit man stop blushing like that!
"thanks, bones," says jim, sounding almost awed (and bones wants to strangle whoever it was that made it so jim was surprised to get gifts on christmas). then he ducks his head and reaches behind him to grab another wrapped package, which he hands to bones. “got you something, too.”
it turns out to be a bunch of pictures of them together at various points during the past year. jim must be out to ruin his reputation, because bones can’t stop grinning all day.

modern au grantaire shouting “SOURCE” after everything enjolras says in his speeches until one day enjolras walks in with a stack of papers and drops it on the table in front of grantaire and starts in on one of his rants and it’s a packet of source articles for every single statistic and quote he used that night

One problem I have in drawing is that it is really hard for me to mimic and absorb other people’s style. I can just plain imitate when needed, but when drawing my own stuff I’ll throw those knowledge away, like short term memory. Some people said it is a good thing (harder to be influenced), but I feel I am like running blindly by myself.
So, I am going to just imitate some artists I like and see what I get out of it: here’s J.C Leyendecker, hopefully you can tell XDrz
