One problem I have in drawing is that it is really hard for me to mimic and absorb other people’s style. I can just plain imitate when needed, but when drawing my own stuff I’ll throw those knowledge away, like short term memory. Some people said it is a good thing (harder to be influenced), but I feel I am like running blindly by myself.
So, I am going to just imitate some artists I like and see what I get out of it: here’s J.C Leyendecker, hopefully you can tell XDrz
